Our structure
Our name and structure has changed over the centuries. We became an independent charity in our current form in 1995 and are registered with the Charity Commission (our Registered Charity number is 207167).
Our funding
Over half of the Dulwich Almshouse Charity’s (DAC’s) income is from a weekly contribution paid by our almshouse residents. This is based on the fair rent for the property and a share of the cost of the services provided by the DAC. The contribution qualifies for Housing Benefit and is capped at the maximum level of the Benefit to ensure it is affordable for residents.
The DAC is also a beneficiary of The Dulwich Estate, from which we receive an annual payment.
